Larvikite is a black igneous rock that's primarily found in the area around Larvik, Norway. This stone has a flash or shimmer which is also known as the 'Schiller effect', a blue sheen that occurs when polished larvikite is cut in a specific direction to highlight the alternating layers of feldspar and plagioclase.
