** Not a natural crystal, this is a man made product.  Goldstone is made by mixing glass and metal in a low-oxygen atmosphere, which causes the metal to crystallize and create shiny inclusions in the glass.  First made in Italy, and was originally called "Aventurine glass".  A popular story about the discovery of goldstone claims that monks in Venice accidentally dropped a jar of copper into a vat of molten glass.
